Course Details

Section will be taught totally online with no scheduled class meetings. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes. Robert Morris labs are to be used only as a backup in special situations and may not be relied upon for extended periods of time. In addition to the Internet link, online classes have a large emphasis on email. Course Description

Many organizations are learning that in today's environment, an effective technology risk management program has become a necessary component of business success. This course explores current and critical risk topics from a business perspective associated with the management of technology in the corporate world. Students will learn key concepts for implementing and maintaining a technology risk identification and assessment program. The purpose of these programs is to guide the organization in identifying an approach to effectively manage the technology risks that impact the business risks associated with operating in a rapidly changing technological environment. Key types of technology to business risks within this area that will be explored are; cybersecurity, data breaches, the internet of things, artificial intelligence and automation, cloud computing, technology obsolescence, social media and infrastructure management.

Prerequisite: MBAD 6111 - Contemporary Topics in Risk Management
