Provost David L. Jamison, J.D.

David Jamison has been the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Robert Morris University since 2008. In that role, he is the chief academic officer for the university, overseeing RMU’s five schools, their degree programs, and scholarly research. The Office of the Provost also oversees special academic programs such as the University Honors Program and Women’s Leadership and Mentorship Program, the Center for Global Engagement, and the Center for Innovative Teaching, among others. Provost Jamison is a professor of communication and also currently serves as interim dean of the School of Communications and Information Systems.

Provost Jamison joined RMU in 2002 as dean of the School of Communications and Information Systems and professor of communication. He served as RMU interim president from June 30, 2015 to February 1, 2016. He received his B.A. Summa Cum Laude from Muskingum College, his M.A. from the University of Michigan, and his J.D. Cum Laude from the University of Michigan School of Law. Provost Jamison previously was on the faculty of the University of Akron. A former U.S. Foreign Service officer, Provost Jamison is an attorney who was admitted to practice before the Ohio Supreme Court, the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.


Mary Ann Rafoth, Ph.D.

Dr. Rafoth oversees the Office of the Registrar, Special Academic Programs, academic budgets, and is responsible for general support to the provost.

Sushil K. Acharya, Ph.D.

Associate Provost, Research, Graduate Study, and International Programs
Professor of Software Engineering

Dr. Acharya oversees faculty and student research and grants and the Center for Global Engagement as well as acts as a liaison to graduate studies.

Maria V. Kalevitch, Ph.D.

Acting Associate Provost, Outreach and Innovation

University Professor of Science

Dr. Kalevitch oversees outreach and innovation projects for the university including collaborative partnerships such as the Bridges and Pathways partnership.

The Center for Innovative Teaching seeks to support the professional development of RMU faculty through a variety of programs and activities. Initiatives include a faculty mentoring program and a faculty advisor training program. The center also supports RMU faculty engagement in pedagogical research and presentation.
