Additional Program Details

Pre-Law Advising is strong and structured at RMU.  Every year, students interested in applying to law school can take advantage of online courses taught by the Pre-Law advisor, which provide a breakdown of exactly what the student needs to be doing to prepare for success in the law school admissions process.  These courses in the Pre-Law Sequence (PLAW 1000-4000) are 0-credit classes taken pass/fail, appear on each student’s transcript, and keep students on task for deciding which law schools to apply to, studying for the Law School Admissions Test, and preparing strong applications.

Students also have the opportunity to pursue a Legal Studies Minor, that grounds students in the structure of the court system and its constitutional foundation as well as criminal and civil law, and provides electives for students to develop their knowledge in related areas.  Sample courses include The Legal Environment Of Business, Civil Rights and Liberties, and Cyberlaw.
