CYBR6010 - Cyber Crime and Criminology

Spring 2024

A deep analysis of computer crime through an examination of the crime and those individuals committing it, as well as the specific laws, investigative techniques, and criminological theories applicable to computer crime. This course will require the student to think critically about the course topics and demonstrate an understanding of the complexity of cyber-crime issues and the perpetrators that perpetrate such crimes. 3 Credits

This comprehensive look into Intelligence Studies course enables students to understand how criminal and nefarious intelligence groups are structured and organized with ultimate goal being disruption or infiltration. In addition, this course describes a modern approach to collecting and analyzing data developed through various collection techniques. This course will require the student to think critically about the course topics and demonstrate an understanding of the complexity of the intelligence agencies and their processes. CYBR6120 - Linux For Investigators

Spring 2024

LINUX for Investigators course teaches students how to build investigative computers that do not resolve to any investigative entity. This course will enable students to construct and use LINUX based machines for cyber investigations and intelligence gathering. In addition to learning how to install and use the system, basic network forensic techniques will be explored. Finally, this course will explore investigating web attacks, internet crime, email crime, corporate espionage, trademark, copyright infringement, sexual harassment, and exploitation, and child sexual exploitation. 3 Credits

CYBR6230 - Cyber Tradecraft

Spring 2024

Cyber Tradecraft is essential to create a believable and credible online presence and moniker. Understanding how to gain willing followers and sources will enable the successful collection of evidence and intelligence. This course exposes students to the importance of cyber operational security, both from the defender and attacker perspectives and cyber attribution tradecraft. In addition, this course will take an ethnographical look at the current threat actors to allow students to better understand the current threat.
