Area of Expertise/Research- I specialize in intergroup communication. Intergroup theory explores why we categorize ourselves and others into ingroups and outgroups, and how those social categories influence our interactions with others.
I also research computer mediated communication. I am interested in understanding how we create, maintain, and terminate relationships using computer based technology.
