Course Description

This course is designed to demonstrate students? analytical skills in applying previously learned theories, concepts, and models of organizational leadership to a real community or workplace setting. Previous leadership topics such as ethics, leader-follower communications, effectiveness, leadership skills, organizational sustainability, power and influence, and interpersonal relations will be considered. This course?s learning process requires the use of either a context assessment or a case study approach, and either qualitative or quantitative assessment method, to address a real-life need or problem in an organization or community and offer conventional or novel solution. Students may also focus on organizational or community strengths to envision new opportunities for development. Both methods require designing and leading an original leadership project for a community or organizational improvement. Students? learning will be evaluated based on the ability to design and carry out the established process.

Prerequisite: Completion of 21 credits of OL courses. Note: The capstone project must not be a topic that a student had used for a similar project in this program (without instructor permission).
