Course Description

The purpose of this course is to provide students with a survey of the major theoretical models in counseling psychology. Students will be exposed to an overview of psychodynamic, existential, humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, gestalt, reality, systems, and integrative approaches. Emphasis will be placed on understanding and application of theory to client populations. Through lecture, discussion, readings, writing, and experiential exercises, students will begin the process of developing their own theoretical orientation. 3 credits.

Prerequisites: PSYC6010 and PSYC6060 3 Credits
