Section will be taught totally online with no scheduled class meetings. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes. Robert Morris labs are to be used only as a backup in special situations and may not be relied upon for extended periods of time. In addition to the Internet link, online classes have a large emphasis on email. Course Description
This is the first in a three-course calculus sequence. Topics covered include limits, continuity, derivatives, rules for
derivation, applications, and related rates; optimization techniques for extrema including Rolle's and mean value theorems;
first and second derivative tests; curve sketching; differentials and indefinite integrals; Riemann Sums; integration
techniques, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.
Pre-Requisites: MATH1020 with a C or better OR by Departmental Placement Exam
