Course Description

This course is the third in a three-course calculus sequence. Topics covered include conic sections, lines, curves, planes (including tangent planes and normal planes), parametric equations, vectors in Rn, normal vectors, tangent vectors, gradient vectors, vector operations including dot and cross products, vector-valued functions, curvature of vector paths, partial derivatives, directional derivatives, extrema of functions of two variables, Lagrange multipliers, double and triple integrals in rectangular, polar, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates and applications of multiple integrals in geometry, engineering, and physics.

Prerequisite: MATH2170 with a minimum grade of "C" or equivalent. 4 Credits
