Course Description
This course deals with cost estimation techniques applicable in an engineering environment. Initial and detailed cost estimation methods for the conceptual design, detailed design, production, and phase out segments of the life cycle will be discussed. Cost centers, distribution of overhead/burden rates, heuristic estimation methods, and data collection for cost estimation, as well as cost/benefit analyses, and the effect of financing on project costs are major topics for this course.
