Course Description

This course, which is a system-focused pathophysiology course builds on basic pathophysiology principles and explores the principles of normal body functions and pathophysiological changes that occur as a result of disease, lifestyle, and homeostatic changes in the body. An overview of the management of common health problems, disease processes, and syndromes will be emphasized. Altered pathophysiological health is explored at the genetic, cellular and organ system level. The primary focus is to provide a foundation for clinical decision-making and management of individual and family health problems across the lifespan.
