This course is a study of the events leading up to and involvement in the Civil War. Emphasis is on the period 1860-1865 dealing with the social, political, and military aspects of the War. This course uses the PBS series by Ken Burns on the Civil War as the basis for classroom discussions, exams, and projects. 3 Credits
