EDUC6810 - Trauma Informed Sel

No prerequisites 3 credits This course is designed to provide educators on research-based interventions used to support students who are at risk of mental health issues or students who have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences. Course activities will facilitate educator's understanding of mandated and best practices, such as TIC, and MTSS. Evidence based tools that can be implemented into the classroom along with crisis de-escalation will be reviewed. The course will require the development of a Trauma-informed Professional Development session as well as a Trauma Sensitivity Action Plan. Fifteen (15) hours of field experiences are required.
