PSYC2800 - Applied Psychology
Fall 2022
This course is an introduction to Applied Psychology and it will examine the use of psychology in the following areas: personal adjustment across the lifespan, in education, interpersonal relationships, marriage, family and parenting, physical and psychological health and in identifying and treating psychopathology. This course will also examine various settings and professions that require the use and application of psychology and psychological principals. Typical content areas include: clinical and counseling psychology, industrial psychology, developmental psychology, sports psychology, human factors, educational and school psychology, environmental psychology, as well as forensic and medical psychology. Students will explore major theoretical perspectives in applied psychology as well as current methods and findings based in scientific psychology.
