About the Degree

The Master's in Organizational Leadership is an interdisciplinary degree which builds on your experience as a member of society interacting with a wide variety of institutions to learn how to effectively develop others and accomplish organizational goals. Members of a society conduct their daily lives engaged with their educational, political, cultural, religious, commercial, familial, community and governmental organizations. These organizations require effective and flexible leaders and followers to enable members to adapt to inevitable change and maintain a well-functioning society.

Degree Objectives

In the M.S. in Organizational Leadership program, you will engage in courses and subjects that will enable you to acquire the analytical and practical skills necessary to effectively participate in a wide range of society's organizations.   You will learn and practice how leaders recognize opportunity and motivate individuals and groups, and how and why followers choose people to lead them.   To provide you with a deeper understanding of how leaders and followers accomplish and adapt, you will study the theories and strategies of leadership, conflict negotiation, critical thinking, and ethics and change, as well as managing information and technology, and analyzing human behavior in cultural contexts.


Format: Partially Online (Hybrid) or Fully Online

In our 8-week accelerated format, you can earn your master's degree in a classroom one or two evenings a week or totally online. The partially online (hybrid) option features a combination of classroom experience and online interaction with faculty and classmates while the fully online option enables you to complete your master's degree without having to attend face-to-face classes.   The hybrid option involves classroom sessions for two hours one evening per week at our Moon Township campus, and an additional 3.5 hours of coursework per week online.  Choosing the online option means you can earn your degree from anywhere in the world on your schedule, spending 5.5 hours per week on your course work online.

Admission Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  2. Undergraduate cumulative QPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
  3. Minimum two years of work or practical experience

Applicants should submit the following materials to the Graduate Admissions Office:

  1. A completed application and a non-refundable $35 application fee. Or apply online for free.
  2. Official undergraduate transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  3. Current resume
  4. A 750-word essay about your goals
  5. Two letters of recommendation
Once all application materials are received, you may be invited for a phone or in-person interview with a member of the admissions committee.
