Area of Expertise/Research

  • Dr. Shellie Hipsky inspires internationally with her personal life story and the stories of the amazing people in her fifth book Ordinary People Extraordinary Planet. Soon the she will be viewed on her talk show "Inspiring Lives with Dr. Shellie"! She is sought out to appear in media of all forms because she makes a profound difference in the lives of her audience members, students at Robert Morris University, and her readers. She has written over 100 articles, won a prestigious volunteering award for her work with The Homeless Children's Education Fund, was recognized by the Army of Angels for Heart Smart Business Day, and created a public service announcement for National Child Abuse Prevention Month with Alicia Kozakiewicz (Alicia Project) and the Army of Angels. A performer and volunteer since she was a child, she is renowned locally for her acting/singing talents and utilizes them through galas that she hosts which have raised over $35,000 for homeless children in shelters. She has been invited to present at international conferences, at Oxford University in England, and spoke to over a thousand people at Pepperdine University. An Associate Professor in Education, she can speak to children's needs (including disabilities), mentoring, and tell true-life stories from the heart based on personal experience and her books. Her new company The Learning Mountain, encourages a love of reading in young children with its e-storybooks and Parent Packs that provide "Happily Ever Afters" for families. This dedicated mother of two was Inspirational Woman Magazine?s Woman of the Month, has been featured in multiple magazines, and heard on over 65 radio shows.
