Correcting Schedule Issues
When you submit your preliminary registration, your course selection(s) will be verified against a variety of
registration criteria. If your course selection(s) does not pass the validations, you will be notified by one
or more 'yellow' or 'red' lights. Each is accompanied by a message explaining the issue and provides
instructions for resolving the issue.
Three of the most common issues are...
Time Conflicts between two of your selected courses. If you have two courses on your schedule
that are
scheduled to meet on the same days and time, or overlap, you will be notified by a 'red' light. You will need
to drop or remove one of the courses and resubmit your preliminary registration to resolve this conflict.
Prerequisite(s) Not Met means that you have not fulfilled the prerequisite requirements needed to
take
this course. A link is provided for you to see the prerequisites for this course. You will need to remove
this course from your preliminary registration and re-submit your preliminary registration.
Course Not Applied to Checksheet appears for a course that does not fit any open 'slot' on your
checksheet. It may not satisfy your degree requirements. You may still take this course if there are no other
issues by 'submitting with warnings.'
Reasons for taking "Courses that don't apply":
- You are in the process of switching majors and want to take a course in the new program before your checksheet is officially changed.
- Personal enrichment.
- Refresher course for credits transferred in (example, you had Accounting five years ago and want to be up-to-date and ready for Accounting II).
