First RMU Students Inducted in Nursing Honor Society

Thirteen Robert Morris University (RMU) nursing students were the first to be inducted in the School of Nursing and Allied Health's nursing honor society during a ceremony that took place in April.

The students inducted were:
Pamela Aleck, a master of science in nursing student from Pittsburgh, Pa.
Alix Alton, a master of science in nursing student from Coraopolis, Pa.
Mary Boyd, a master of science in nursing student from Midland, Pa.
Kathyrn Cremeans, a master of science in nursing student from Beaver Falls, Pa.
Deanna Clark, a bachelor of science in nursing student from Camarillo, Calif., who graduated in December and is now working at the UCLA Medical Center
Maureen Dunn, a master of science in nursing student from Sharon, Pa.
Michaelle Hernon, a bachelor of science in nursing student from Allison Park, Pa.
Emily Hojdila, a bachelor of science in nursing student from Aliquippa, Pa.
Patricia Kowalski, a master of science in nursing student from Sewickley, Pa.
Susan Lucot, a bachelor of science in nursing student from South Park, Pa., who graduated in December and is now pursuing a master of science in nursing at RMU
Johnna Resek, a bachelor of science in nursing student from Washington, Pa., who graduated in December and is now working with Allegheny General Hospital
Michele Silhanek, a bachelor of science in nursing student from Wexford, Pa., who graduated in December and is now working with Hershey Medical Center
Rebecca Weatherly, a master of science in nursing student from Beaver Falls, Pa.

In addition to the students, several faculty and staff of the School of Nursing and Allied Health were inducted in the honor society, including:
Lynda Davidson, Ph.D., R.N., dean and associate professor of nursing
Lynn George, Ph.D., R.N., associate dean, head of the department of nursing and assistant professor of nursing
Patricia Fedorka, Ph.D., associate professor of nursing
Marge Hardt Dicuccio, assistant professor of nursing
Valerie Howard, clinical assistant professor of nursing
Lisa Locasto, clinical assistant professor of nursing
Kathryn Perozzi, clinical assistant professor of nursing
Carl Ross, Ph.D., R.N., professor of nursing
Kirstyn Zalice, clinical assistant professor of nursing
Anne Canny, undergraduate advisor

Launched three years ago to address the region's critical nursing shortage, RMU's School of Nursing and Allied Health now enrolls 150 students in its undergraduate and graduate nursing degree programs. Last fall, the school earned its initial accreditation of five years from the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education for both its BSN and MSN programs. Five years is the maximum accreditation for new programs.
