The Robert Morris University field hockey team will play a 17-game schedule in 2006 with eight of those contests to be played at Joe Walton Stadium. 2006 will mark the third year of existence for the team under the guidance of head coach Lisa Bray. Robert Morris went 3-13 in 2005 after going 0-16 in their inaugural season with a roster consisting of one sophomore and 13 freshmen.

The Colonials are members of the nine-team Northeast Conference that includes Fairfield, Loch Haven, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, Rider, Sacred Heart, Siena and St. Francis (Pa.) in addition to Robert Morris. Four of those games will take place at Joe Walton Stadium, where RMU is 3-6 all-time.

Robert Morris will open the season on the road, however, starting their nine-game non-conference with a trip to Bucknell Saturday, August 26. They follow up with their home opener Friday, Sept. 1, by hosting Bellarmine and Seton Hill Saturday, Sept. 2. The Colonials first-ever win came against Seton Hill, 1-0, last season at Joe Walton.

Two road games the next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 9-10, at LaSalle and Georgetown, precede a two-game homestand against Radford and Missouri State Friday and Sunday, Sept. 15-17.

The Colonials final two non-conference games of the season start the team's longest road trip of the year as well. They travel to St. Louis, Mo., for games against Lindenwood Sept. 23 and St. Louis Sept. 24.

Robert Morris opens their NEC schedule by traveling to Lock Haven for a 1:00 p.m. game Sunday, Oct. 1. A trip to Loretto, Pa., and a game against St. Francis (Pa.) follows Friday, Oct. 6.

The team then backs up their longest road trip of the year with their shortest homestand, one game against Sacred Heart, Sunday, Oct. 8. Road games at Rider and Monmouth take place Friday and Sunday, Oct. 13 and 15. Robert Morris picked up their first conference win against Rider last season, 1-0.

The Colonials wrap up their 2006 slate with three straight home games beginning with Siena Sunday, Oct. 22. Quinnipiac and Fairfield round out the regular season visiting Joe Walton Stadium Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27 and 29.
