POLS2010-A Study Tour: Washington D.C. (Spring 2016)

Course Details

The Washington D.C. Study tour offers students the opportunity for engaged learning by visiting the Greater D.C. area. The tour will highlight many important areas of D.C., including, The US Congress, Congressional Offices, The US Supreme Court, The Library of Congress, The National Archives, The Smithsonian Museum complex, the National Monuments (Jefferson, Lincoln, FDR, MLK, WWII, Washington, Iwo Jima), Arlington Cemetery, the National Holocaust Museum, Republican and Democrat Headquarters, respectively, Union Station, FBI Headquarters, the White House, think tanks and Embassy Row. The course will include visits to DC universities, where students will receive information about career graduate programs in government, law, and politics. The tour will be May 8-13. Prior to the tour, students will have online instruction and one meeting. The cost of the tour is $800, which includes lodging, transportation, and a metro pass. Section will be taught totally online with no scheduled class meetings. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes. Robert Morris labs are to be used only as a backup in special situations and may not be relied upon for extended periods of time. In addition to the Internet link, online classes have a large emphasis on email. All messages from the instructor and other information regarding online classes, including user ids, passwords, and login instructions will be sent to your Robert Morris University email account.
