Section will be taught totally online with no scheduled class meetings. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes. Robert Morris labs are to be used only as a backup in special situations and may not be relied upon for extended periods of time. In addition to the Internet link, online classes have a large emphasis on email. Course Description

This course examines issues of human resource management in today's organizations. Of particular interest is the need for a strategic approach to and inclusion of human resources in the organizational planning analysis. Interwoven throughout the course will be the importance of creating linkages between human resources and organizational strategies and accountabilities. Topical areas of examination will include a basic understanding of legal requirements as applied to employment. Current topics and emerging issues in the field, including recent court rulings, ethical issues, and corporate social responsibility will be covered.
