Course Description

Students will be expected to demonstrate progress towards the completion of a novel research project dealing with an issue of interest to them in education. The dissertation project will be conducted primarily under the direct supervision of each student's major advisor (mentor) as well as in part by the student's committee members. The main goals of this course are two-fold. First, each student will complete a thorough review of the literature pertinent to their research question which will make up chapter two of their dissertation manuscript. Second, students will develop their proposed solution by completing chapter three of their dissertation manuscript; a detailed plan of their research design. Periodically, students will be required to present their ideas to the class for constructive criticism and stylistic feedback.
