Course Description

This course serves as an NCLEX-RN/CAT examination preparation course. Students will work individually as well as in cooperative learning groups. Content will focus on test-taking strategies, controlling test anxiety through locus of control, cognitive restructuring, and self-talk. The course assignments will include current issues affecting NCLEX first-time test-takers. Students will practice the above test-taking techniques through computer assisted instruction and weekly NCLEX-like questions. The course will not re-teach nursing content, with the exception of pharmacology and diagnostic studies. Students will be given a comprehensive NCLEX readiness examination and must achieve of a 90% or higher for course completion and graduation.

Prerequisite: NURS3050, NURS3055, NURS4015, NURS4020, NURS4025, NURS4031, and NURS4041 or concurrent with NURS4031 and NURS4041
