Course Description

This course is an introductory course that gives students an overview of the history of and current organization and operation of the American health care system. Students will gain an understanding of the major components of health care such as hospitals, physicians, pharmaceutical firms, long term care, home health and health insurance. Coursework will cover sources and uses of resources for each of these entities and the unique challenges that face managers in each portion of the system.
