Section will be taught totally online with no scheduled class meetings. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes. Course Description

Introduction to Managed Care (three credits) presents a survey of the managed care component of the health care industry. The course will develop a taxonomy of managed care organizations, understanding of managed care financing mechanisms and the incentives that they generate and will deal with specific challenges relating to organization, financing, legal issues and other aspects of managed care.

Prerequisite: HSAM2300 and HSAM2350 3 Credits
