Robert Morris labs are to be used only as a backup in special situations and may not be relied upon for extended periods of time. In addition to the Internet link, online classes have a large emphasis on email. Course Description

This course provides an overview to functional areas of health services administration including the areas of leadership, strategic planning, patient/consumer, insurers and government roles, healthcare informatics and technology, human resources, patient safety, quality management and operations, finance and performance management. The student will gain an understanding of the patient as a person, their healthcare needs, their family's needs and demographic trends and responding healthcare organizational structure and healthcare roles. Students will begin to become familiar with the language of healthcare services administration. The student will be grounded in the current challenges and have insight into future direction of healthcare system design and reform. 3 Credits
