Course Description

This course, Health Care Law and Ethics, introduces ethical and legal issues that impact the delivery of medical care. The course begins with an understanding of the roles of law and ethics and how the two concepts relate. Central issues will deal with ethical and legal "rights" and including patient "rights", payment for health care, access to care and health care reform, patient safety, negligence and malpractice, fraud and abuse, reimbursement and contracts.

Prerequisite: HSAM2300 & HSAM2350 3 Credits
