Course Details

Section will be taught totally online with no scheduled class meetings. Students must arrange for daily access to a computer and the Internet prior to the start of classes. Robert Morris labs are to be used only as a backup in special situations and may not be relied upon for extended periods of time. In addition to the Internet link, online classes have a large emphasis on email. All messages from the instructor and other information regarding online classes, including user ids, passwords, and login instructions will be sent to your Robert Morris University email account. Course Description

This course builds upon the fundamental concepts and structures of online teaching and learning developed in EDUC6610. This course addresses the advanced teaching and learning applications of an LMS. Participants will develop advanced pedagogies: narrated online lectures, cooperative learning, online debates, interactive assignments and activities, and both synchronous and asynchronous facilitation techniques. The course will focus on the advanced technological features of an LMS and how to facilitate online structures for effective online classroom management. Discussions will also focus on the use of blended learning techniques that enhance learning in higher education, training and development and Pre-K-12 settings.
