Course Description

This final didactic role management course will focus on practice management issues that Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) encounter in their role transition from direct care providers to Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) prepared APNs. During this course, issues pertinent to DNP practice will be discussed including but not limited to: challenges and opportunities of the DNP APN role, policy and legal aspects to the role, certification options, leadership in health care policy and systems, and opportunities for promotion and advocacy of the DNP role. Pre-requisites: All clinical specialty nursing courses Must be taken last year of program
