RMU Marketing Students Have Award-winning Year

Moon Township, Pa., June 27, 2008 - The student chapter of the American Marketing Association at Robert Morris University (RMU) nabbed two awards this year at the organization's annual Collegiate Conference Competition in New Orleans.

Thirteen members of the RMU chapter attended the conference, and the chapter received awards for its membership and Marketing Week activities. Marketing Week is held annually in October, during which chapters host marketing-related events activities on campus and in their community.

Award-winning Year for RMU Marketing Students

"This year the AMA worked extremely hard on various campus activities. I have been involved with the RMU chapter for three years, and I'm very proud of all of the awards we have brought home from the competition each year and the attention we have created to showcase RMU," said RMU chapter Vice President Kristian Seaman.

RMU's activities consisted of shooting a commercial for Aquafresh toothpaste as well as sponsoring a contest that allowed other RMU students to submit their own commercials to be judged.

In addition to Seaman, the officers for the 2007-08 academic year were:

Katie Carelle - president
Carly Hilty - vice president of fundraising
Kristina Dearfield - vice president of fundraising
Melanie Boulanger - vice president of membership/communications
Kristian Tamski - vice president of professional development
Justine Bazzo - vice president of community service
Danielle Rossman - vice president of website
Erin Neely - Student Government Association representative

"The AMA is a well-known organization on campus and we worked really hard to gain this recognition and to be successful. We had a strong officer board this year and also obtained the support of the Marketing Department professors, who immensely assisted in making our events successful," said Seaman.
