Students must apply for candidate status in Education during the semester in which they have completed at least 48 credits. There are specific requirements for candidate status that must be met or the student will not be permitted to continue in the Citizenship Education and Social Sciences (Teacher Certification) program. Students should consult their academic advisor and/or the Education Department Head on a regular basis to assure that the student will meet candidate status requirements, and subsequent Professional Semester requirements. Acceptance into the program is not a guarantee that the program will be completed; students must continue to meet all program eligibility requirements in order to continue in the program.
