MGMT3960 - Gender, Family, and Work

Fall 2019

This course examines various gender, family and other issues in the workplace. This discussion-based course will introduce students to core problems in the study of gender, work and family from different perspectives with a focus on its impact on human resource management. Students will examine and debate challenges faced by individuals at workplace, including gender (in)equality, gender expectations, parenting, work life balance, sexual harassment, and other diversity issues in the workplace. This course is intended to acquaint students with the key concepts used in the HR field to address diversity issues related to gender, work life balance, employment rights and practices. After completing the course, students are expected to be equipped with the basic HR knowledge and the critical thinking skills to lead in a diverse workplace.
