HUMA1011 - Humanities Abroad

Summer 2021

This class will serve as an introduction to the fine arts as applied to the country. We will explore the characteristics, style, classification, form, and content of art through critical analysis and relationship to historical events. The student will gain the tools necessary to evaluate art and will then be able to apply these tools, including a critical approach, to other areas and subjects outside of this course. It is the main objective of hte course to aid in the development of the student's ability to think critically. This class has a required 2-week student adroad experience which is a necessary part of this class. In addition to tuition, there will be study abroad costs for airfare, housing, etc. If you are interested in taking this course, contact the Center for Global Engagement at 412-397-6893 for more information about the study abroad travel arrangements and costs.
