Both additive rapid tooling and rapid manufacturing are major applications of 3D printing in product development and manufacturing . This course will cover direct and indirect rapid tool making along with rapid manufacturing . Materials , quality , process control and optimization subjects are included within the scope . Hands - on / digital laboratories will be centered on a product design , development , and manufacturing exercise
