CRMJ3040 - Criminal Intelligence Analysis

Crime analysis is the systematic examination of multi-faceted crime data. The indentification, collection, storage, modification and dissemination of crime data enables law enforcement agencies to identify crime trends; determine long term strategic trends; and improve operational and administrative effectiveness. Criminal analyst should master the ability to write, brief and disseminate findings to law enforcement stateholders clearly and concisely. This course will provide an overview of these processes. The course will involve basic familiarization of a GIS (Geographic Information System) software program that is designed for graphical presentation and analytical discernment.
