Flu Vaccination Clinics On & Near Campus
Flu Vaccination Clinics On & Near Campus

Student Health Services will hold a series of vaccination clinics to administer H1N1 flu shots to current RMU students.  You are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to protect yourself from this virus for the duration of the cold and flu season.  While it may seem that instances and reported cases of the H1N1 virus are low at this time, it is expected that the virus will continue to spread over the upcoming months and that you are still at risk of being infected.

Only the nasal spray form of the vaccine is available to us at this time.  Please note that this form of the vaccine is only intended for healthy, nonpregnant persons between the ages of 2 and 49.  Individuals with underlying chronic health conditions or who are pregnant should not get the nasal spray, but should only receive the injectable vaccine.  You should contact your health-care provider if you have any concerns about your ability to receive the nasal spray vaccine.

Flu Clinics will be held as follows:

Robert Morris University is offering the H1N1 flu vaccine Mon-Fri from 9am-3pm. The vaccine is available on a walk-in basis in the Student Health Services. Take advantage of this FREE vaccine.

Dr Klugs’ Office, located in Moon Township, is offering the H1N1 vaccine for a $15 administration fee. Cash Only.

Walgreen's, Located in Moon Township, is offering the seasonal flu vaccine for $24.99 and the H1N1 vaccine for $18.

You can read more about the H1N1 nasal spray vaccine at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention website at www.cdc.gov/H1N1flu/vaccination

There is no cost to receive this vaccine.  Vaccines will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Students will be required to present their RMU FREEDOM CARD and complete required documentation (questionnaire and consent form) in order to receive the vaccine.  Students age 17 and under are not permitted to receive the vaccine without signed consent from a parent.  Consent forms are available in Student Health Services (Nicholson Center, 2nd floor).

If you have any questions, please contact the Student Health Services hotline at 412-397-6200 or the office staff directly at 412-397-6221.
