NEWS
-- Eight students who registered for a directed study course in leadership in public relations will attend the Public Relations Student Society of America conference in San Diego from Nov.5 -10. University Professor of Communications Ann D. Jabro designed the course to provide students the opportunity to experience a professional convention and earn Student Engagement Transcript credits.
-- The Office of Residence Life is seeking students to be resident assistants, one of the top leadership positions for students on campus. RAs directly complement the mission of the university in their service as "front line" para-professionals ensuring that our 12 residence halls have the appropriate emphasis on a living and learning student development model. All interested students will need at least one recommendation from an RMU faculty or staff member, so please consider recommending those students who you believe have the potential to be outstanding members of our student staff. For more information, email shidemantle@rmu.edu.
-- Stop by the Holiday Inn on Thursday, Nov. 12, to see Mike Frantz, vice president of enrollment management, do his best "Cocktail" imitation. As part of the "Mixer with Shakers" event, Frantz is guest bartending from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Iron City Grille in the Holiday Inn on University Boulevard. The tips he earns will be donated to the United Way. The event is sponsored by the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce and is intended to connect the local business community to some of the region's business and community leaders.
