PERSONAL MENTION
--Rex Crawley, head of the Department of Communication, will take part in the first Diversity and Inclusion Conference on Thursday, Oct. 22, at PNC Park. The event is sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Diversity Initiative, which aims to promote regional economic growth by providing resources to employers in the Pittsburgh region to attract, hire, and retain employees from a variety of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Crawley, an associate professor of communication, will take part in two sessions at the day-long event: A Day in the Life, from 9:45 to 11 a.m., and University Best Practices in Diversity, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, click here.
*WELLNESS TIP* Limit snacking between meals: When the sugars in food mix with certain bacteria in the mouth, acid is created. Eating throughout the day constantly exposes your teeth to these acids that wear down the protective outer layer—the enamel—of your teeth.
